Born in Saint John, NB on August 9th 1942, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth (McCavour) Maguire. She was retired from Transport Canada and was recently awarded the Paul Tissandier Diploma of the Federation Aeronautique Internationale, for her 14 years of dedication and devotion in the promotion of the John C. She was a strong advocate of the Breast Cancer Society and a valued member of the "Living for Today" Cancer Support Group. She is known for cheering and supporting others despite her own illness and especially befriending those just beginning their treatments. Each knew they were her "favorite". She is also survived by her five step-great-grandchildren and six great-nieces and great-nephews. Besides her parents she was also predeceased by her niece Deborah Magee and nephew Allen Maguire. Special mention must be made of many "children" who took part in the Webster Memorial Trophy Competition to whom she was affectionately known as "Ma Webster". Friends may call at the ALAN R. BARKER FUNERAL HOME 19 McArthur Ave., Carleton Place, Ontario on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. Funeral Service to follow in Calvary Pentecostal Church, Carleton Place at 2 p.m. with Pastor Todd Braye of Beckwith Baptist Church officiating.
