Obituary for Mary Hackett

Hackett, Mary "Patricia" The death of Mary “Patricia” Hackett of the HH Special Care Home, Miramichi and formerly of Doyle’s Brook, NB, widow of Vincent Hackett occurred at her residence on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at the age of 94. Born in Barnaby River, NB, Patricia was the daughter of the late Patrick and Clara (Murphy) Gill. Patricia was a homemaker, member of the Ladies Auxiliary Branch # 10, Newcastle, Nelson Senior Citizens Group and she loved reading and doing crosswords. Patricia’s family and faith were uppermost in her mind at all times. Patricia is survived by four daughters: Linda McLean (George Cusack) of Toronto, ON, Gail Whyte of Miramichi, NB, Debbie Simpson (Robert) of Fredericton, NB, Cathy Hackett of Doyle’s Brook, NB; two sons: Robert (Sharon) and William (Beverly) all of Barnaby River, NB; son-in-law : James Waugh (Linda) of Fredericton, NB; three sisters: Theresa Regan, Carmel English all of Miramichi, NB; Joan Silliker of Barnaby River, NB; one brother Joseph of Barnaby River, NB; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Patricia is predeceased by her 1st husband; John Hackett; one daughter: Maureen Waugh; two sisters: Mary Mahoney and Ursula Regan; infant sister; four brothers: Gerald, Clement, Donald and Patrick and infant twin brothers: Thomas and Francis; sons-in-law: George Whyte and Joseph McLean Visitation will be held at Bell’s Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Edward’s Roman Catholic Church, Chelmsford on Thursday, February 18, 2016 @ 12 Noon with Father Paul Beaumaster officiating. Burial will take place in St. Bridget’s Roman Catholic Cemetery later in the spring. In Patricia’s memory a donation may be made to the Miramichi Food Bank or a memorial of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Bell’s Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi, NB. Telephone 622-3600.
