Obituary for Clyde Smith

1943 – 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clyde (Jim) Smith of Riverview on Thursday, December 22, 2016.

Born in Moncton in 1943, he was the son of Inez Miriam (Wood) and Clyde William Smith, both deceased. An electrician by trade and retired instructor of the New Brunswick Community College, he was an avid NASCAR fan and car buff. He loved taking pictures and woodworking. He enjoyed darts and playing cards with friends and being with his family.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Janice (Lutes) of 52 years, three daughters, Tamara (Luc) Levesque of Fredericton, Trina (Eric) Vautour of Upper Coverdale and Tracy (Brad) Henderson of Boundary Creek; nine grandsons Brandon (Meaghan) Donovan, Mitchell Hazlett; Matthew, Michael and Christopher Vautour; Jacob, Colton, Malcolm and Hayden Henderson and one great–granddaughter, Riven Rose Donovan, whom he adored. Also surviving him are two sisters, both of Fredericton, Anna (Michael) Jackart and Judy Smith and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, William.

A funeral service will take place at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869–2007) on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 11:00am with Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. The interment will take place in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.

Donations made to Friends of The Moncton Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cobbsfuneralhome.ca
