Obituary for Jean Zinck

Our Jeannie died on at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital in Perth–Andover, NB, on February 7, 2017, after brain cancer was discovered on November 25, 2016.

Family members who will always remember her are her husband Bob, daughter Krista McInnis (Allen) of Dubai, UAE with Jean’s grandchildren Keira and Ewan McInnis, and her son Andrew Zinck (Tiffany Jourdrey) of Bridgewater, NS; her brother George Calder (Marlene) who live in Lachute, QC.

Born in Arvida, QC on May 7, 1948, Jean left there in 1966 to attend the University of New Brunswick from which she graduated with degrees in Nursing and Education. She spent most of her working life in various aspects of nursing where her kindness and respect was appreciated and remembered by all.

Jean was active in the village of Plaster Rock where she volunteered many hours for different organizations, usually behind the scenes. Evidence of her skill as a cross–stitcher is seen hung in her home and in those of her many friends and relatives. She loved to knit, quilt, and in her last good months rug hook. Her interest in genealogy produced volumes of family trees and filled her evenings by the fire. She will be remembered for her loyalty, kindness and respect to all she knew.

Jeannie also leaves behind her precious cottage at Lac des Seize Iles, QC where she spent her summers paddling, swimming and being with her many cousins and friends. The loon’s call will hold extra meaning for all the summers to come.

Resting at the Tobique Chapel in Plaster Rock with visitation on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 1 to 5 pm. In keeping with Jean's wishes, there will be no funeral service held.

If you wish to make a donation in her memory to your local SPCA, it would be in keeping with Jean’s consideration for all things.

A gathering at Lac des Seize Iles to remember Jean will take place this summer. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth–Andover and Plaster Rock.
