Obituary for Dalton Allen

The passing of Dalton “Bunny” Fraser Allen of Penniac, NB, husband of Faye (Collett) Allen occurred on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 11, 1936 in Penniac, NB, he was the son of the late Bryden and Margaret (Saunders) Allen.

Dalton worked in Forestry for his father in law, Harold Collett and then worked in maintenance at NBTA for 10 years. In Bunny’s early years he played ball and hockey, his enthusiasm for recreation continued as he enjoyed and supported the events at the Penniac Rec Centre, he also liked country music. Bunny loved his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Bunny is survived by his two sons, Darren Allen (Nancy) and Kevin Allen (Donna); grandchildren, Craig, Matt, Jorden, Megan, Ty, Lauren and Dylan Allen, Megan and Brendan Jolicoeur; great–granddaughter, Kylie; sister, Sandra Manzer; brother, Otis Allen; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Marlene Collett and great–grandson, Ryan.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 7 to 9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 7 pm with Rev. Brett Anningson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Chalmers Foundation – Palliative Care Unit. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
