Obituary for David "Rod" Cochrane

It is with sad hearts that the family of D. Rod Cochrane of Fredericton announce his passing on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital after a long and courageous battle with ill health. Born in Fredericton, NB on December 15, 1949, he was a son of the late Ernest “Bud” Cochrane and Eunice Estey.

Rod was affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church and an Insurance Salesman most of his life. An avid sports fan and grew up playing youth baseball and hockey in Fredericton.

Rod is survived by his brother Rick Cochrane (Joanne) of Fredericton; nephew Sean Cochrane (Connie) of Halifax, NS; great nephew Matthew Cochrane; several cousins.

As per Rod’s request there will be no visitation. A memorial service celebrating Rod’s life will be held at a later date.

A special thank you to the Doctors, Dr. Ann Harvey, nursing staff of 4NW for their wonderful care, kindness and compassion shown to Rod during this time and as well as his lifelong friends who were there when needed the most.
