Obituary for Greta Rushbrook

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Greta H. (Wright) Rushbrook on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on August 31, 1934 in Woodstock, NB she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Annie (Cronkhite) Wright and wife to the late Don Rushbrook.

Greta was the last surviving member of her family and was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor Young and brother, Keith Wright.

She is survived by her two daughters, Heather (Jim) Mars and Sharon Rushbrook (Todd Dickey); son, Keith Rushbrook and his partner Dan Menchions; grandsons, Ryan and Greg Mars; granddaughter, Taylor Rushbrook–Dickey; great–granddaughter, Kylie–Anne Mars–Craftchick and great grandsons, Jacob Mars–Craftchick and Cassius Mars.

Greta was a charter member of the Skyline Acres Baptist Church and a leader of their Explorer Group. She was a lifetime member of the Canadian Baptist Women’s Association. She was a charter member of the Epsilon Y’s Menettes and was their president twice.

Mom had an outgoing personality and a lot of spunk and inner strength. She drew others to her with her huge, genuine smile and caring words. Her love and devotion to Dad and her family was foremost in her life. She was an excellent knitter and knit several lopi sweaters, an avid reader and loved to do puzzles on her IPad.

Mom was a loving, caring wife, a one of a kind mother, doting grandmother and extremely proud great grandmother. She was a trusted and loyal friend.

We will miss her terribly!!!

In keeping with Greta’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at the Skyline Acres Baptist church on Saturday, February 18th at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Dr. Karl Csaszar officiating. There will be a reception in the church sanctuary immediately following the service. Interment will take place in the spring.

For those who wish, donations may be made to the Skyline Acres Baptist church, Parkinson’s Society, or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online condolences may be made at www.mcadamsfh.com
