Obituary for Georgette Doucette

1925–2017
Georgette Doucette, 91, of Grass Home, Riverview, passed away at her residence on February 16, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Hector and Yvonne (Picard) Hudson.

Born in Juniper, NB, she was one of six children. She proudly followed in her father’s footsteps getting a job with CN as an operator. She had a fondness for reminiscing and often spoke of her brief days working for the railroad as well as the many years spent living in CN dwellings raising her children.

She will be sadly missed by her devoted daughter Suzanne McGrath (Paul) of Riverview and son Michael Doucette of Saint John; grandchildren Paula, Mark, and Krista; great–grandsons Brett and Wil. She is also survived by one brother, Raymond and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Darrell (1983); brothers Maurice and Anicet, sisters Rachel and Monica; two infant children, Lorraine and Joseph, and her step–mother Marie Anne. May she finally find peace by being reunited with her loved ones that have gone before her.

By request, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will take place at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869–2007) on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11:00am with Father Charles Broderick officiating. The interment will take place in Alderwood Cemetery, Spring 2017.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Georgette’s memory to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Building Fund or the Albert County Food Bank. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cobbsfuneralhome.ca

A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Grass Home for the exceptional care they provided Georgette through the years.

“Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end; it simply means I’ll miss you until we meet again.”
