Obituary for Victor Gaudet

Victor Gaudet, 83, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, February 16, 2017. Born in St. Paul, Kent Co., he was the son of the late Augustin and Pauline (Cormier) Gaudet.

Victor was a retired Warrant Officer in the R.C.A.F. with 26 years’ service, having been stationed in many places in Canada, as well as some time in Germany. After retiring, he took a job with C.C.N.B. as a purchaser. He attended Notre–Dame–de–Grâce Roman Catholic Church. Victor was a kind helpful soul and a skilled craftsman. A perfectionist, he enjoyed woodworking, upholstery, music and playing his guitar, working in his vegetable garden and was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan.

Victor will be sadly missed by his daughter, Diane Gaudet of Lakeville and sons, Louis Gaudet and Ray Gaudet, both of Moncton, Ron Gaudet of Ottawa, ON, Marc Gaudet (Maja) of Floda, Sweden and Gerry Gaudet (Krista) of Cochrane, AB. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Andrew, Erika, Alina, Andre, Casper, Charlie, Rachel and Rosie; sisters, Zella LeBlanc, Edith Nowlan (Roger), Mae Cormier (Adelard) and Yolande Cormier; brothers, Paul Gaudet (Viola), Leo Gaudet (Betty), Arcade Gaudet (Eliette) and Roger Gaudet (Dolores); sister–in–law, Jeanne Gaudet; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Bernice (Bourque) Gaudet (2013); infant grandchild, Colin; infant sister, Geneva and brother, Emery.

Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858–1995) on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Notre–Dame–de–Grâce Roman Catholic Church (854 Mountain Road) on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 1:00 pm, with Rev. Jean–Guy Dallaire officiating. Reception in the Parish Hall following the Mass. Interment will be held at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or a memorial of the donor’s choice. Online condolences at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
