Obituary for Elmer Scott

Elmer J. Scott, 89, of Moncton, surrounded by the love of his family, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Aulay and Florence (Good) Scott.

Elmer was a former employee of the Royal Bank in Bathurst, Lounsbury Co. Ltd. in Bathurst and Moncton, Moncton Crushed Stone and Modern Enterprises Ltd., Moncton. He was a long time and very proud member of Mountain View United Church, Moncton and was a member of several church choirs within the greater Moncton area.

Elmer will be sadly missed by his daughters, Carol Penny (Rev. Matthew) of St. Thomas, ON and Dr. Donna McCann (late David) of London, ON; sons, Gary Scott (Sandra) of Moncton and Keith Scott of Mississauga, ON; loving Grampy of Andrew Penny (Angela), David Penny (Aura Roy), Diane Penny (Donovan Kelley), Michael McCann (Weraonika), Catherine McCann, Maria McCann, Danielle McCann, John–Paul McCann; cherished great–granddaughter, Olivia McCann; brothers, Francis Scott (Peggy Payne) of Salmon Beach and Roy Scott (Patricia Doncaster) of Janeville; brother–in–law, Irvin Wiseman; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Harriet R. (Loane) Scott (September 2012); infant grandson, baby Peter McCann; sisters, Emily Wiseman and Fern Wiseman; brother, Allison Scott.

Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858–1995) on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate and honor Elmer’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 11:00 am. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be held in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Mountain View United Church Community Suppers in memory of Elmer would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
