Obituary for Hazel Anderson

Hazel Pearl Anderson, 80, of Moncton, with her loving husband Doug at her side, passed away peacefully at The Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, following a long and undaunted battle with Alzheimer’s dementia. Born in Memramcook, NB, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred “Victor” and Dorothy (Williams) Fullerton, sister to brothers Jack Fullerton (Lea), Victor Fullerton (Lynn), Patricia “Patsy” Fullerton.

A former employee of Peter Pan Motel, Hazel for years also assisted in the bookkeeping of her husband Doug’s business. But the occupation she most excelled at was that of loving mother of three children, Dan, Chris and Sydnie Lynn Anderson. Hazel enjoyed golf – she is an exclusive member of the hole–in–one club – as well as reading, and doing crossword puzzles. But first and foremost she enjoyed spending time with her family, whether it was camping, spending weekends at the shore, shopping with her daughter, or even helping the boys scrape the family outdoor rink in the winters. And wherever she went, a loving pet was never far behind, or sitting in her lap.

Hazel will forever be deeply missed by her husband of 60 years, Douglas William Anderson of Moncton, and their two sons Daniel Douglas Anderson (Dana) and Christopher John Anderson; grandchildren, Marcus, Jamie and Cooper Anderson and Cassidy Waring. We can only hope that with Hazel’s passing comes a spiritual reunion with her daughter Sydnie Lynn, who sadly preceded her back in 2008 – resulting in a pain that resided in Hazel’s heart throughout her remaining life – may they both be resting in peace, together.

In addition to her parents and daughter Sydnie Lynn, she was predeceased by siblings, Allan, Bernard, Maxine and Joyce.

A gathering to celebrate and share memories of Hazel’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Reception Centre, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858–1995) on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of South East NB or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
