Obituary for Massimo Riti

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Massimo Riti of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Antonietta (D’Andreamatteo) Riti, which occurred on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on December 9, 1924 in Atri, Italy, he was a son of the late Antonio and Annantonia (Tiburzio) Riti.

Massimo was an avid gardener and wine maker; he especially loved spending time with his family.

Massimo is survived by his daughters, Frances Seca (Nardine) of Fredericton, NB and Assunta Blackier (Jack) of Quispamsis, NB; his son, Antonio “Tony” Riti of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Trina and John Seca and Adam and Michael Blackier; sister, Maria; brother, Pasquale of Italy; many nieces and nephews in both Canada and Italy.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Anna; brothers, Francesco and Domenico.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 12 to 1 pm; followed by a service at 1 pmwith Father Monte Peters officiating. Interment will take place in the Hermitage Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
