Obituary for Sheila Chippin

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Sheila Chippin at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, March 18th, 2017 after a brief illness. Born in Montreal on August 20th, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Alec and Anne Aronson and the wife of Harry Chippin.

Sheila was also predeceased by her brothers, Bernard (Pauline) and Murray.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Harry of 68 ½ years; son, Gordon (Alice); daughter, Marilyn Kaufman (Seymour) and their four children, Alexis (Warren Lacusta) their children, Paeyton and Mercedes; Joanna, Allison and Karen Stryker (Ron); son, David (Gail) and their children, Sam, Dennis and Mitchell, Arthur (Janet) and their children, Alexander and Zachary, brother, Jack (Ann) sisters–in–law, Alice Aronson and Valerie Chippin (Mike). A lover of the arts, she was a large influence in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great–grandchildren.

Sheila attended night courses at Sir. George Williams University in Montreal and in her senior years took creative writing at UNB. She was often found sketching drawings to accompany her poetry and short stories. She had an appreciation for all genres of music and was self–taught on piano, she was an avid reader and lover of crossword puzzles.

Sheila was a member in good standing of the Sgoolai Israel Synagogue, Fredericton. She served as President of her Local Sisterhood as well as the Fredericton Chapter of Canadian Hadassah – WIZO.
