In celebration of a life well lived, the family of Edith Eileen Ferris announces her passing on Sunday, March 19, 2017, with her children by her side, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton NB.Born in Cherry Hill, Lower Jemseg, NB, she was the daughter of the late John and Dora (Farris) Molasky and the wife of the late Irving Ferris.

When she was first married, she and Irving lived in the Minto area and attended the Newcastle Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and worked with the C.G.I.T. In 1967, they moved back to Jemseg and she became employed at the Bethel Home and Mill Cove Nursing Home. As a member of the Jemseg Baptist Church, she became very involved in missions, acting as president of the Women’s Missionary Society for many years, also taking a turn as president on the Queens–Sunbury level and loved going to Baptist conventions. Eileen was a life member of the U.B.W.M.S. and the Women’s Institute, of which she was a great supporter. She was also a member of the Gloria De’ singers with whom she went on many bus tours.

Eileen’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Homecare Plus for the excellent care they provided. A special thank you goes out to Marlene Moss, whose care and dedication gave Eileen the independence she needed to remain in her home.

Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 2:00 PM at the Jemseg Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Burke officiating.
