Obituary for Geoffrey "Jeff" Mulherin

February 2nd, 1943 – May 20th, 2017
Jeff’s family wish to inform his friends, relatives, teammates and opponents of his sudden and tragic cycling accident on May 20th in Fredericton.

His wife of 51 years, Sheila (nee Nielsen), daughters Katrina, Shaena and Bronwyn along with his son–in–law, Shane Murphy and two super grandchildren Maeleigh and Myles will miss him terribly.

Jeff Mulherin was born in the county of Worcester, England and spent the first 2 years of his life at Great Frampton, Llantwit Major in Wales on his grandfather’s farming estate. In 1945 he immigrated to Canada with his mother, Edna Mulherin arriving at Pier 21, Halifax and they continued to Grand Falls, New Brunswick. He grew up in Blue Bell, Victoria County, NB. He was the eldest of eight children. Dad was ever the competitor, and always dependable. He left this life the way he lived it: full speed ahead and trying to set a personal best.

Please join us for a celebration to honour his life on Thursday, May 25th, 2017 from 3 to 6pm at his home rink: The Capital Winter Club, Rookwood Avenue, Fredericton. Remarks and eulogy will commence at 5pm.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society or The New Brunswick Trails Council Inc. Further information can be found on York Funeral Home website. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
