Obituary for Patrick Losier

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Patrick C. “Pat” Losier announces his passing, which occurred peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice on Saturday, June 17, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Saint John on April 14, 1953, he was a son of the late J. Felix and Odette L. (Mai) Losier.

Pat was an avid outdoorsman. He loved deer and moose hunting, as well as bass fishing down by the falls. He was a skilled fly fisherman who excelled at fly tying. His prized fish was a 63 lb. striped bass which was mounted on a plaque at Doiron’s Sports Excellence store.

Pat was a skilled labourer and a jack of all trades. Over the years, he held several jobs in Saint John: Simm’s Brush Company, Lantic Sugar Refinery, City of Saint John Parks and Recreation, Irving Refinery during the expansion as a labourer and drove taxi for five years. He also used his handyman skills to help people with odd jobs, like painting, moving, building decks, hanging drywall and crackfilling.

He was a kind, gentle man with a great love for family and a passion for helping others. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. Pat will be missed by all who knew him.

Pat will be missed by his children, Michelle (Brown) Hamilton, Shaun King (Melanie) and Amanda Scott (Alex); grandchildren, Kyle, Tanisha, Charity, Angelisa, Kiana and Aiden; siblings, Francine Arseneau (Robert), Cathy Losier and Bob Losier (Janet); nieces, Natalie (Peter), Monique and Jennifer (Tommy); nephew Jonathan; great niece, Linnea; great nephew, Jeromey; as well as several cousins and extended family.

In addition to his parents, Pat was predeceased by his brother, Brian Losier.

Pat’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Poirier, Dr. Bewick, Dr. O’Brien, Dr. Wildish, and all the nurses and volunteers of Bobby’s Hospice for the care and attention given to Pat.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (634–7425). Visitation will take place on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 2 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 360 Dufferin Row, Saint John on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 12:00 pm with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Bobby’s Hospice, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Salvation Army or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
