Obituary for Sybil Fowler

It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Sybil W. Fowler, who passed away at her residence, ProTem Health Services, on Saturday, June 24, 2017, announce her death.

A teacher by profession and passion and a fabulous cook and gracious hostess, Sybil spent her lifetime caring for others. She loved to entertain and make food for friends and her church and especially enjoyed visits to the family farm where she grew up. Born in Lower Millstream, New Brunswick, Sybil was the daughter of the late Fred and Jean (Adams) Sharp.

She is survived and will be deeply missed by her loving family; daughter–in–law, Susan (late Ian) and her two granddaughters, whom she adored; Amy (Corbin Bourree) of Calgary and Laura (John Ryan Morrison) of Fredericton. She also leaves to mourn, her sisters–in–law Frances Sharp of Lower Millstream and Ann Sharp of Sussex, as well as her brother–in–law E.R. (Ned) Fowler (Ruth) of Moncton and many nieces and nephews and their children.

Sybil was predeceased by her husband of nearly 60 years, Gerald R. Fowler in September 2010 and in November 2011 by her only child Ian – the greatest love of her life and truly her pride and joy. In addition to her parents, Sybil was also predeceased by her brothers Arthur and George and sister Anna.

Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858–1995) on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate and honour Sybil’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 11:00 am with Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

In Sybil’s memory, the family would appreciate donations to The Friends of the Moncton Hospital, St. John’s United Church, Lower Millstream United Church or a Memorial of the donor’s choice. Online condolences at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
