Obituary for Jo–Ann Hood

Jo–Ann M. Hood of Magaguadavic, NB, wife of Albert Hood, passed away August 11, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. She was born at Harvey Station, NB in 1957, a daughter of Gordon and Letty (Ryan) Toner.

Jo–Ann was employed for a number of years with the Department of Health. She enjoyed taking part in local card parties. Jo–Ann was a member of the Word of Faith Family Church in Lower St. Marys.

She is survived by her husband, Albert; two children, Amanda Hood, Calgary, AB and Tim Hood (Sarah), Wainwright, AB; her parents of Harvey, NB; siblings, Eldon Toner (Kathy), Fredericton, NB, George Toner (Jennifer), Harvey, NB and Marvena Harris (Alfred), Tracy, NB; her mother–in–law, Mary Hood, Magaguadavic, NB; sisters–in–law, Connie Dunham (Lawrence), Ginnie Stairs (Cecil), Joanne McCullough (Paul), Cathy MacKinnon (Mac), Lois Fraser (Dale) and Patricia Chase (Randy); a brother–in–law, Michael Hood (Holly); an aunt, two uncles, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jo–Ann was predeceased by her father–in–law, Gordon Hood; a brother–in–law, Tony Thornton and a niece, Cassandra Long.

Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Chapel, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station, NB on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 2 pm from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gary Bitely officiating. Interment at the Pine Grove Cemetery.

For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Jo–Ann, the family has suggested the Canadian Cancer Society.
