Obituary for John Hosking

John Henry Hosking died on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in Brampton, ON at the age of 88.

He is survived by his loving wife Helen Elizabeth Hosking (Good), children: Everett Henry Hosking (Stephanie), Eric Glenn Hosking (Raymonde), and Elaine Lee Elenis (Tony), siblings: Ronald Hosking (Johanne), Joan Eddy, Sybil Cutcliffe, and William Hosking (Zeny), grandchildren: Eve Pauze, Christopher Hosking, Andrew Elenis, Nathan Hosking, Adrien Hosking, John–Anthony Elenis, William Hosking, and Elizabeth Hosking.

He was born on March 26, 1929 in Kingston, ON to William Stephen Hosking and Mary Jane Hosking (Jamieson). He grew up in Bathurst, NB and graduated from the University of Toronto in 1950 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He married Helen Good in 1952. They started their married life in Guelph, ON, and later moved to Pointe Claire, QC, and then Oakville, ON. John worked at various engineering firms until he established his own engineering company which evolved to be Liftall Inc. which manufactured crane attachments. John stayed with his business until retirement in 2000. John also spent time serving as a director for the Professional Engineers Ontario.

A private grave side service was held at Glen Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery in Oakville, ON on Saturday, October 7, 2017.
