Obituary for Raymond LeBlanc

1920–2017
Raymond E. LeBlanc passed away peacefully at Monarch Hall in Riverview, NB, on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the age of 97. He was the husband of Marie Bishop–LeBlanc. Born in Moncton on August 26, 1920; he was the son of the late Edgar and Anna (Landry) LeBlanc.

Besides his wife Marie, he will be sadly missed by his two sons: Maurice and Eric (Julie); his daughter, Denise; three granddaughters: Melanie (Jetty Thompson), Jessica and Erica (Mike Miller); and his five great-grandchildren. Raymond also leaves behind his brothers and sisters: Zilla Charlebois, Jacqueline Sullivan, Jean–Paul LeBlanc, Sr. Germaine LeBlanc, Euclida Bourque, Jeannine (Don) O’Hearn, Josette Levesque, Huberte Boissonnault, Jules (Marguerite) LeBlanc and Guy LeBlanc as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers: Dr. Gerard LeBlanc and René LeBlanc.

Raymond was a veteran of the Second World War, after returning from his service overseas he joined the family business (Moncton Plumbing Company) and eventually retired as a sales representative for the National Chem Search Company.

Besides spending time with his family, he greatly enjoyed his summers at the cottage in Pointe–du–Chêne, along with golfing and traveling. Anyone who knew him enjoyed his storytelling abilities and marveled at his great memory.

A Memorial Service as well as a Legion Service from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6 will be celebrated on Sunday, December 10 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home (1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, NB) followed by a reception. Interment will take place at Fair Haven Cemetery.

Donations in Raymond’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

A special thank you to the entire staff at Parkland Shannex in Riverview for the great care provided over the years.
