At Hospice House in Fredericton on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at the age of 97, Hilda Mae Nichols was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Born in Brockway, NB, on August 28, 1920, she was the wife of the late Robert Nichols.

Hilda leaves behind her daughters, Carolyn Gordon (Harry), Debi Munn (Rob) and Barbara Nichols; grandchildren, Patti Gordon, Krissy Tully, Darla and Roberta Morton, Ashley Munn; great grandchildren, Holly Morton, Samantha Brushey, Emma Tully and Sophia Mercer; nephews, Roy and Ted Brockway and Troy Parfitt; nieces, Nancy Davies, Donna Neilsen and Kim Clowater; son–in–law, Randy Morton.

In addition to her husband, Robert, Hilda was predeceased by her parents, R. Carleton and Mary (Smith) Vail; daughter, Mary Morton; brothers, Raymond and Dave Brockway; sisters, Joan McLeod and Diane Parfitt.

Hilda will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose house was a gathering place for the entire family. She was an active member of Lincoln Baptist Church for many years and a member of the Oromocto Women’s Missionary Society.

Our family would like to thank Hospice House in Fredericton and Oromocto Extra Mural for their compassionate care. A heartfelt thank you to Marie Mahar for her faithful friendship and ministry to mom. You have been such a blessing to our family.

Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Sunday, December 17, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Lincoln Baptist Church on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:00 am with Pastor Steve Ranni officiating. A private interment will take place in Brockway, NB.

For those who wish, donations in Hilda’s memory can be made to Lincoln Baptist Church, Gideons Memorial Bible, Hospice House or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.oromoctofh.com, 357–5100.
