Obituary for Alberta Martin

On January 14th, 2018 Alberta Doris Martin went peacefully home to be with the Lord. She was born on July 4th 1931, in Lorneville, NB, to the late Leslie and Vera (McCavour) Ferguson.

Alberta lived a very religious and devoted life, she was a long–time member of the Saint John and Lorneville Brethren Church. She loved travelling the world with friends, staying on top of the latest fashion trends, cooking hearty meals and was a renowned baker. In her career years she worked as a secretary for the Bank of Canada.

Alberta will be dearly missed her sons; Bruce Martin (Mary Pat) of Lorneville, Paul Martin of Lorneville, Peter Martin (Cathy) of Saint John, daughter Martha Halpin (Lloyd) of Saint John, sister Grace Matheson of Vancouver, BC, eight grandchildren, her beloved five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents, husband William Edward Martin, brothers; Hudson, Arthur, Glendon, Charles, James and Samuel, sisters; Mildred (Middy) and Marion.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634– 1701). Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 18th from 2:00PM to 8:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 19th at 10:00am. Interment will take place in the spring.

Donations to Lorneville Cemetery Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be made at www.Castlefh.com
