Obituary for Robert Watson

1938–2018
Robert Watson passed suddenly on the morning of March 9, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers hospital.

Bob graduated with a degree in Forestry Engineering from UNB Fredericton and Masters in Forestry Economics from Syracuse University and had a long public service career with the Nova Scotia and New Brunswick provincial governments. Bob retired in 1998, focusing his attention to detail on his passions: family, community, and music; singing with the Stepping Stones, and with the New Maryland United Church choirs. He was a prolific collector of Big Band vinyl, antique hurricane lamps, and vintage appliance user manuals. He loved to garden, bake, keep an eye out on the weather and current affairs both local and global.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his loving wife, Carol Dawn Watson (nee Amey). Bob is survived by his sister, Jan (Watson) McLean (Don); his children, Anne Taylor (Jack), David Pollard (Kim), Ceon Pollard (Donna) Christopher Pollard (Ewa); grandchildren, Kevin, Patrick, Russell, Terri Anne, Donnell, Meghan, Joshua Struan; and great-grandchildren: Bridgette, Hilary, Emily, Kaitlyn, John, Porter, Ayla, Wyatt, Travis and Emmett.

At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. Friends, family and those who wish to share their stories and remembrances are invited to attend a memorial gathering that will be held on Wednesday, March 14th, 2018 between the hours of 6pm and 8pm, at McAdam’s Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, given Bob’s generous nature; donation to the New Maryland United Church or an act of love and kindness are welcome. Online condolences may be made at www.mcadamsfh.com.

And “Oh, Bob, we are making a wee bit o’ fuss”
