Obituary for Marie Savage

Marie Angela Savage, widow of Byron William Savage of Bartibogue Bridge, NB, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the age of 96. Born in Grattan Road, NB, Marie was the daughter of the late George and Justina (Forbes) Kenny.

Marie was a homemaker and member of St. Peter & Paul Alter Society, Bartibogue Bridge, NB and St. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church.

Marie is survived by two daughters: Marina Savoy (Graham) of Head of St. Margaret’s Bay, NS, Sandy Savage (Paul Graham) of Valley, NS, three sons: Kenneth (Betty Lou) of Fredericton, NB, Colie (Phyllis) and Terry (Mary) all of Miramichi, NB; one sister: Bernice Savage of Lower Newcastle, NB; sister–in–laws: Gladys and Rhoda Savage, Marion Arseneault and brother–in–law Donald Tozer; ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Marie is predeceased by her husband and infant daughter: Sandra Lee; her parents, three sisters: Mildred, Genevieve and Leola; three brothers: Harrison, Robert and Arthur and many brothers–in–law and sisters–in–law.

Special thanks to Pearl Breau, for her many years of dedicated service, caring for Marie.

At Marie’s request there was no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from St. Petr & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Bartibogue Bridge on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11 AM with Father Anthony Papu officiating. Music was by organist/soloist Jacqueline Allain. Readings and Prayers of the Faithful were read by Graham Savoy and Irene Blakley. Active Pallbearers were Christopher Savage, Jeff Savage, Glen Savage, Jason Savoy, Tommy Kenny and George SchurmanBurial will take place in St. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery later in the spring.

In Marie’s memory a donation may be made to a memorial of one’s choice.
