Obituary for Dalton Humphrey

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dalton Marvin Humphrey, which occurred at the Moncton Hospital on April 13, 2018 at the age of 84 with his loving family by his side. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Marvin and Edna Humphrey.

He will be lovingly remembered by Theresa (Richard) Humphrey, his wife of 65 years; his sons, Michael (Wendy), and Brian (Barb); his two grandsons, James (Sharon), and Roger (Carrie); and his two great-grandsons, Alex and Mason. He is also survived by his sister Donelda Macklem of Woodstock, ON as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dalton was an entrepreneur and had a passion for business. Dalton and Theresa started out with a taxi business at a young age and then they moved on into the trucking industry with Humphrey’s Transfer, Mayflower Movers, Modern Warehousing and Daltres Consulting. He served on the board of directors for Marine Atlantic and served as councillor for the City of Moncton. In their retirement years, Dalton and Theresa spent many winters travelling to Florida and their summers at the cottage in Bass River where many stories were told.

The family would like to thank Dr. Davidson and staff of the Palliative Care department at the Moncton City Hospital for the great care he received.

In keeping with his wishes, there was no public visitation or funeral service. Interment has taken place in Fair Haven Cemetery.

Donations in Dalton’s memory may be made to the Lung Association of Canada or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852–3530. A book of condolences may be signed at www.fairhavenmemorial.ca
