Obituary for Alfrèda Maillet

1932 – 2018
Alfrèda Maillet, 86, of Sainte–Marie–de–Kent, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the UHC Dr Georges L Dumont, Moncton on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. She was married to the late Georges Maillet (2017). Born in Sainte–Marie–de–Kent, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and the late Juliette (Melanson) Roy.

Alfrèda was a cook at the Mont–Carmel School in Sainte–Marie–de–Kent for numerous years.

She will be sadly missed by her six children; Marie–Thérèse Hébert (Jean–Guy), Pierrette Nowlan (Raymond), Lucie Maillet (Adrien Babineau), all of Sainte–Marie–de–Kent, Denise Shean (Todd) of Edmonton, AB, Maurice (Maria) and André (Linda) all of Sainte–Marie–de–Kent, her nine grandchildren; Jacques, Denis, Pierre, Marie–Josée, Mireille, Justin, Martin, Patrick and Daniel as well as six great-grandchildren. Alfrèda also leaves to mourn two sisters; Lorraine Vachon of Nashua, N–H, Claudette Michaud (Jacques) of Dieppe, three brothers; Ulysse (Gilberte) of Quebec, Paul, Valmond (Bernice), all of Sainte–Marie–de–Kent as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one son Gérard at birth and one sister, Thérèse.

Visitations will be held at the Notre–Dame du Mont–Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Sainte–Marie–de–Kent on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 7 to 9 and on Friday June 1, from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 6:45 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Sainte–Marie–de–Kent Church on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 7:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery.

In Alfrèda’s memory, donations may be made to the Sainte–Marie–de–Kent Knights of Columbus Scholarships Bursary or to the parish fund.
