Obituary for Leonard Doucet

1921 – 2018
Leonard Doucet, 97, of Moncton, passed away on Monday, May 14th, 2018 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Notre–Dame–de–Kent, NB, he was the son of the late Charles and the late Annie (née: Melanson) Doucet.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Doucet had worked as a postal mail handler. He was an army veteran, having served overseas from 1941–1945 in England, Belgium, Holland and France. He was a member of Legion Branch # 6 and Notre–Dame de Grâce Parish.

He is survived by his wife, Ida (née: Belliveau); two daughters: Pauline (Eddie) Harris of Moncton and Murielle (Ron) Titus of Irishtown; three sons: Raymond (Lilianne), Marc and Roger, all of Moncton; two sisters: Marie (late Raymond) Geoffrion of Cornwall, ON and Rita Doucet of Dieppe; five grandchildren: Christopher, Michel, Mathieu, Serge and Marie–Josée; seven great grandchildren: Raphael, Melodie, Samuel, Annabelle, Jacob, Elise and Madeleine; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers: Desire (Lisette) and Alonzo (Claire).

Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857–1901) on Sunday, June 24th, 2018 from 7 to 9 pm ONLY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Notre–Dame de Grâce Roman Catholic Church, Moncton on Monday, June 25th, 2018 at 11 am. Interment in Notre–Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe.

Donations to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated by the family. www.chartersville.com
