Arlene M. Steeves, 86, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. Born in Amherst, NS, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Evelyn (Tibbetts) Crossman.

Arlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt and a former bookkeeper and secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church Moncton for over 60 years, a Sunday School teacher and was involved in various groups within the church over the years. Arlene enjoyed playing bridge and “cruising” with Doug, having been on 32 cruises. A volunteer at The Moncton Hospital for 35 years, she was a former President of the Moncton Kinette Club and a member of the NB Antique Auto Club.

Arlene will be sadly missed by her husband of 63 years, Douglas Steeves; children, Gary Steeves of North Vancouver, BC, Dawna Steeves and Andrew Steeves (Iona), both of Moncton; grandchildren, Jamie (Sarah), Matt and Lauren Steeves; great-grandchildren, Jack and Norah; sister, Sharon Akerley of Amherst, NS and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Ruby Deaton.

Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858–1995) on Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate and honour Arlene’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11:00 am with The Rev. Dr. J. Richard Jackson officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.

In Arlene’s memory, donations to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital or First Baptist Church Moncton would be appreciated. Online condolences for the family can be shared at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
