Obituary for Ronald Harrison

Surrounded by the love of his family, Ronald Dawson Harrison passed away peacefully at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Friday, June 29, 2018. Born in Chatham, NB and grew up in Plaster Rock, NB, son of the late Aarol and Bessie (Dickson) Harrison.

Ronald graduated from Tobique Valley High School in 1954 and was known as Huck to his friends. He graduated from Forest Ranger School in 1956 and then continued his career in the Forestry Industry.

He was an avid golfer and sports fan of Varsity Reds Hockey. Ron was a supporter of all his grandchildren's activities (i.e. football, soccer, track and field, dance) and was an active member of the Golden Club as well as a long–time member of Mactaquac Golf Club.

Ronald is survived by his wife Joan (Colbourne) of 61 years. He will be sadly missed by son, Robert (Michelle), and their children Brianna and Dawson Harrison; daughter Anne (Gerald) Lirette and their children Jason Lirette and Chris (Nathalie), and great grandson, Cameron Lirette; son, Kenneth (Nicole) and their children Tim (Kara) and Stephanie Harrison; son, David (Shawna) and their children Dacia and Braden Harrison, and sister Ruthie (Milton) Thibodeau.

Visitation will take place at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 from 7 to 9 PM. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM with The Very Rev. Geoffrey Hall and The Ven. John Sharpe officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery. A reception at the Church Hall will immediately follow.

Donations in Ron’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Christ Church Cathedral Building Fund, Hospice Fredericton or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be made at www.mcadamsfh.com
