Obituary for Brian Mills

It is with a broken heart that I announce the passing of my beloved husband and best friend of 45 years. Brian passed away on Sunday morning, July 1st, 2018 after a brief illness. Born on January 25th. 1950, he was 68 years old. Brian was a wonderful husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, brother–in–law, uncle, and friend to so many.

He worked for many years as a mechanic, but loved working on motorcycles, hot rods and sports cars. He had a huge smile when his arms were under the hood of a car and covered in grease. In later years his interests turned to restoring and dealing with antique furniture, many of which grace our home today.

Saturdays were always family days. He loved having the family together for a meal while teasing, joking, laughing and making memories. Above all else he loved his family the most. His grandchildren were very special to him. He was a very proud Grumpie.

Besides his family, he welcomed everyone. He always had a memory to share, a story to tell or a helping hand to give. Saturday mornings in the summer saw us up early to find the hidden treasures or just the right gag gift at yard sales.

During the winter months he collected and displayed his ever–growing collection of electric trains. I often heard “All Aboard” coming from his train room.

Brian will be loved and forever remembered by his wife Danena (Dana) (nee–Masters), son, Markus Mills, grandson, Parker, granddaughter, Hannah, sister and brother–in–law Becky and Wallace Brooks, nieces Angela MacDougall Smith and Meghan MacDougall, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his beloved pets, Bella and Ozzy.

Brian was predeceased by his father, Royce Hanford Mills, and mother, Mona Josephine (Sherwood) Mills.

The funeral service will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858–1995) on Wednesday, July 4th at 2:00PM, led by Pastor Jonathan Gorham, with visiting hours Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Cremation to take place following the funeral service with private interment at a later date in Birch Hill Cemetery, Berry Mills, New Brunswick.

In memory of Brian, donations can be make to the SPCA, Friends of The Moncton Hospital or the donation of your choice. Online condolences for the family may be shared at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
