Obituary for Damie Sisson

Damie Sisson of Arthurette, NB, passed away peacefully at the Grand Falls General Hospital on August 3, 2018. Damie was born in Oxbow, NB, on April 16, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Abraham and Lenta (Padget) Ruff.

Damie leaves behind her sons, Robert Sisson of Chesterville, ON, Larry Sisson (Tammylee) of Ottawa, ON, Joe Sisson (Tracey) of Plaster Rock, NB; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Jane Wright of Perth–Andover, NB, Marie Larose (Len) of Kingston, ON; her brother, Arthur Ruff (Leona) of Perth–Andover, NB.

Damie was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Tom Sisson; her daughter–in–law, Susan Sisson; sisters, Pearl Ashworth, Geneva Burgoyne, Edna McGuire, and Eva Brown; her brothers, James Ruff, Burney Ruff, Noah Ruff, and Phillip Ruff.

Damie worked for 10 years in the Housekeeping Department at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital. After retiring from the hospital, she worked for several years at Carl's Dairy Bar. In her younger years, Damie was well know for her potato picking abilities. She would often pick over 100 barrels of potatoes in a single day.

Funeral service was held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 11 am from the Tobique Chapel, Rev. Dwayne Broad officiated. Interment followed in the Burntland Brook Cemetery. Music for the service was by Norman and David McGuire and Helen Edgar. Remembrances were shared by Robert Sisson and Faye Edgar. Pallbearers were Damie's grandchildren, David, Thomas, Matt, Tim, Julie, and Karen Sisson. Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth–Andover and Plaster Rock.
