Obituary for Rita Fournier

1931 – 2018
Pointe Verte – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Rita Fournier, at the age of 87, on Saturday, August 4th, 2018, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst. Born in Campbellton, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Arthur Boudreau and Lucie Bourg.

She was the wife of the late Arthur Fournier (1987).

She leaves behind seven children: Diane (Jean–Baptiste Roy); Joanne (Jean–Pierre Lejeune); Gisèle (Dennis Carr) Fredericton, Jean–Marc (Shelley) Pointe–Verte; Omer (Christine) Saint John, Carmel (Etienne Boudreau) and Arthur (Brenda) Bathurst. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and six great–grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Ralph Boudreau (Jenny), Niagara Falls; her sister Lucille (late Amedée Doucet) Campbellton and her sister Jeannine (late Clemment Kelly) Moncton.

She is predeceased by her late common–law partner, Jacques Langendock (July 21, 2018), four brothers and two sisters.

The family will receive visitation at Verret Funeral Chapel in Nigadoo. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 13th , between 7 and 9 pm and Tuesday, August 14th, between 12:30 and 1:30 followed by a mass at 2pm at the St–Vincent de Paul church in Pointe–Verte.

Rita was a member of La Barque Coop in Pointe–Verte, a member of Club de l'âge d'Or of Pointe Verte and a member of the Belledune CWL.

If you wish, you may make a donation to La Barque Coop in Pointe–Verte or to an organisation of your choice.

The family wishes to thank the palliative care unit for taking exceptional care of our mother.
