Obituary for Brian Ganong

It is with broken hearts that the family of Brian Ganong announce his sudden passing which occurred at his home on September 17, 2018. Born on June 10th, 1951 to the late Donald and Joyce (Nelson) Ganong, Brian resided in Hampton with his family for his entire life.

In 1977, he married the love of his life, Jacqueline Green, and together they welcomed two daughters. They built a life in Hampton, and Brian worked for the Province of New Brunswick for 32 years as a property tax assessor. He enjoyed tinkering around his yard, cars, and reading. After his retirement, Brian spent time volunteering at the Hampton Food Basket and loved traveling with Jackie. But his greatest joy was his family, especially his six grandchildren to whom he was affectionately known as “Pa.”

Brian will be deeply missed by his wife, Jacqueline, of 41 years, daughters Michelle Godbout (Mike) and Jill Ganong (Jamie Fowler), grandchildren Grace, Lily, Emma, Charlotte, Molly and Lane, sister Sharon Cogswell (Bill), brother Robert (Sharon), mother in law Doris Green, sister in law Laura Wheaton (Rick) and brother in law Gil Lindsay, Uncle Mac and Aunt Betty Nelson, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Brian was predeceased by his parents Donald and Joyce, father in law Clarence (Sonny) Green, grandparents George and Lillian Nelson, and Hedley and Mildred Ganong, and sister in law, Anita Lindsay.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506–832–5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB where visitation will be held on Thursday, September 20th, 2018 from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8pm. A celebration of Brian’s life will be held 11:00 am Friday, September 21st 2018 from Hampton United Church. Interment will be in Hampton Rural Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Brian may be made to the CNIB, the Hampton Food Basket or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and memorial donations may be made through ReidsFH.com
