Obituary for Richard Edison

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Richard John Edison announce his passing on October 10, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on February 17, 1937, he was the son of the Late William and Jane (Price) Edison.

He was a consummate cabinet maker and took great pride in his attention to detail. He was also an avid hunter and enjoyed camping at Wally’s Campground, as well as being with friends and family at his home in Cambridge Narrows. He especially adored spending time with his grandchildren and great–grandchildren.

Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Barbara; son: Rick Edison of Saint John; foster daughter: Lori Newman (Chris Smallwood) of Nova Scotia; sisters: Margaret Gordon of Saint John and Patricia Seguin (George) of Ontario; grandchildren: Tinisha, Taylor and Morgan; great–grandchildren: Larissa, Jamar and Kanyce; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers: Sydney, Ronald, Joseph, William, Charles and James Edison; and sisters: Rosaline Edison, Inez Beshara and Beatrice Belleville.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634–7424). As per Richard’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the PTSD Association of Canada or Romero House. Condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
