Obituary for Gayle Smith

Gayle Kent Smith age 80, resident of Victoria Manor, Amherst. NS, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 7th, 2018 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan while surrounded by her loving family. Born in Windsor N.S., she was the daughter of the late Peter and Eleanor (Pope) Mill.

She truly enjoyed her family at Victoria Manor where she resided for nine years. Gayle loved spending time with family and friends, especially celebrating birthdays as well as Christmas gatherings.

In her younger years, Gayle was employed with the Maritime Pants factory, Amherst until she took on the most important role of being a mom.

Gayle will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, April (Joe) Dale, Moncton, NB; beloved granddaughters, Tammy, Paula Ripley, Kristy, Katie (Michael) and Kayla Dale; special great-granddaughter, Milly Gayle; sister, Joan Brown Toronto ON; sister-in-law, Marge Smith as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Besides her parents, Gayle was predeceased by her husband, Bruce Vincent; son, Steven; daughter, Debra Ripley; brother, Peter, Douglas (Stefanie); brother-in-law, Lloyd Smith; sister, Faith (Bruce) Burgess; nephews, Wayne and Danny and as well as three infant great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and there will be visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 pm immediately followed by a celebration of life service on Monday, November 12, 2018 with Mr. Bill Drysdale, DLM, officiating all at Campbell’s Funeral Home Chapel, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS, (902) 667–9906. Interment will take place in the Fenwick Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Gayle’s memory may be made to the Victoria Manor or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada Atlantic region. Online condolences and sharing of memories can be forwarded to the family via www.campbellsamherst.ca or by visiting the funeral home Facebook page.
