Obituary for Jean Hicks

November 27, 1928 – November 20, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jean Mary Hicks, age 89, of Sackville, NB, announce her passing on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Dr. Georges L. Dumont hospital, Moncton, NB. Born in Middle Sackville, NB, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Alice (Richard) Leger.

Jean worked for many years as a custodian at Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Kimberley, Shawn, Paul and Natasha; great–grandchildren, Krista, Jonathan, Haley, Amber and Lilly–Anne and two great–great grandchildren. Jean was also survived by her sisters, Louise Lorette of Moncton, NB, Doris Chevarie of Sackville, NB, Albertine Ward of Sackville and Anita Gallant of Dieppe; son–in–law, Bennie Estabrooks and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Aurele; her children, Patricia Estabrooks, Eric, Dean, Allison and Randy Hicks.

A special thank you to the staff of the Manoir Pascal Poirier in Shediac and the nursing staff of Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton for the special care given to Jean.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364–8188. A graveside service will be held in the spring in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Middle Sackville, NB.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations in Jean’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
