Obituary for Norma Steeves

1935–2018
Norma Marilyn Steeves, 83, of Edgett's Landing passed away on November 30th, 2018 at Forest Dale Home with her family by her side.

Norma was born in Waterside on February 21st, 1935 the daughter of the late Norman and Eva (Cairns) Akerley. She worked as a Custodian for Hillsborough Elementary School. She was a faithful member of the Valley Baptist Church. Norma enjoyed her home in Edgett's Landing where she raised her family. She loved antiques and collectibles. She would often reminisce about the old days and what it was like growing up in Waterside. She loved music and attended all the local music nights when she was able to get around. She is now at peace and reunited with those who have gone before her.

She will be missed by her sons, Conrad Steeves (Lisa) of Edgett's Landing, Paul Steeves (Elaine) of Abbotsford, BC and Darren Steeves (Shelley) of Airdrie, AB; daughter, Mary Woodworth (Dale) of Hillsborough; her 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; sisters, Myra Elliott of Riverview, Maxine Stevens of Lower Cape, Sharon Turner of Shubenacadie, NS and Linda Rossiter (Arnold) of Waterside; sister–in–law, Paula Akerley of Alma. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews and by many friends.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Freeman; son, Martin; daughter–in–law, Nancy; infant brother, Hewlett; brothers, Orley, Winston and Gerald.

She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday, December 1st, 2018 from 2–4pm and 7–9pm. The Funeral service will be held at the Valley Baptist Church on Sunday, December 3rd, 2018 at 3:00pm with Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Edgett's Landing, NB in the spring.

For those who wish donations tot he Valley Baptist Church or Green Hill Cemetery would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral Home, 4130 Route 114, Hopewell Cape, NB, 734–2780.
