Obituary for George Watling

1928 – 2018
George A. Watling, 90, of Moncton, NB; passed away following a brief illness at The Moncton Hospital, on Monday, December 3, 2018. Born in Black River Bridge, NB, he was the son of the late James A. and Katherine Cameron (Mills) Watling.

He retired January 31, 1986 from CNR as supervisor of Production Planning. During his 60 years of marriage to Ruby, they enjoyed travelling and spending summers at their cottage. He attended Bethel Presbyterian Church in Riverview and formerly attended St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, where he was a former member of the Board of Trustees, Elder and Clerk of Session, as well as a Scout & Cub Leader. George was a member of the CN Pensioners Association. He was Past Master of Keith Lodge # 23 F.&AM, a former District Deputy Grand Master, a Past Patron of Frank H. Tingley Chapter # 5 and a former member of the Foresters and the I.O.O.F.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter Deborah Watling of Moncton; sister Marjorie Young of Miramichi and a brother Neil Watling (Anna) of Black River Bridge as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife M. Ruby (Graham) Watling RN in 2014; also by his brothers Winfield Watling (Shirley) and Roy Watling (Norma).

Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 6:30 to 8:30pm and Thursday from 12:30pm to the time of the funeral. The Funeral Service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Riverview Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Riverview on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 1:30pm with Rev. Charles Cook officiating. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens following the service.

The family would appreciate any donations in George's memory be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice.
