Obituary for John Brewer

Surrounded by his family, the passing of John Edward Brewer of Burtts Corner, NB, husband of Blanche (Edmondson) Brewer occurred on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 8, 1932 in Burtts Corner, NB, he was the son of the late Perley and Mary (Shepard) Brewer.

John was a carpenter by trade and worked for Whites Woodworking and Major Woodworking for many years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. John loved working with wood, enjoyed watching game shows and taking care of animals. He took pride in being the caretaker of the Burtts Corner Community Cemetery.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his daughters, Betty Jones (Beryl) and Kelli Henderson (Douglas); sons, Bradley Brewer and Trent Brewer (Kim); grandchildren, Nicole Jones (Corey), Daniel Henderson (Kenisha), Ricky Brewer (Melanie), Mychel Henderson and Davis Brewer; great-granddaughter, Dale Brewer; sister, Agatha Roden; brother, Mike Brewer (Pat); several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Richard “Ricky” Brewer; sister, Madeline; brothers, Wardie “Wid” and Donald Brewer.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 2 pm with Pastor Stephen Hoyt officiating. Interment will take place in Burtts Corner Community Cemetery.

The family wish to express a special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at the ICU and 4SW at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for the care and compassion given to John and his family.

For those who wish, donations in John’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Fredericton SPCA. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
