Obituary for Monique Hicks

April 2, 1968 – December 19, 2018
It is with great sadness that we must announce the unexpected passing of Monique Brenda Hicks, age 50, of Midgic, N.B. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Born on April 2, 1968, she was the daughter of Clarence and Noella Cassista of Grand Falls, N.B.

Monique was a nurse at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, which speaks volumes as to who she was as a person. She radiated her kindness, love and compassion upon everyone she met and would often go above and beyond for those she cared for (both at work and at home). It was impossible to not crack a smile around her as she had a great sense of humor and was always quick with a witty remark.

Monique was adventurous, living her life to the fullest. She loved the beach, going to concerts and movies, family gatherings, schooling people at Yahtzee and dancing– for which she always managed to convince anyone in the vicinity to join her. She had a deep love for cats, most notably her “little Princess”.

Monique will be deeply missed by her husband, Will Hicks; her daughter, Chantal (Pascal) Michaud; her son, Steve (Alex) Michaud; her step–daughter, Shannon (Nathan) Miner; her step–son, Ryan Hicks; grandchildren, Bradley, Brielle, Neela, Brynn and Bridgett; brothers–in–law, Wendell Hicks, Wayne (Trudy) Hicks and Wade (Kim) Hicks; sister–in–law, Wendy Hicks; special cousin, Anne Diamond, as well as by extended family in Rhode Island and many friends and co–workers.

She was predeceased by her father, Clarence Cassista.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364–8188). In keeping with Monique’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Monique’s life on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 6–8 pm at Campbell’s Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Monique may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of one’s choice. Online condolences & sharing of memories may be forwarded to the family through our website www.campbellsfuneralhome.com or by visiting the funeral home Facebook page.
