Obituary for Marie Blanchard

(1945-2019)
SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB - It is with great sadness that the family of Marie Blanchard 73, of Saint-Louis-de-Kent announce her peaceful passing at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Friday, January 4, 2019. Born in Saint-Louis, she was the daughter of the late Edmond F. Vautour and late Elvina (Fontaine) Vautour.

Before retiring, Marie was employed as a pharmacy technician for 31 years. Marie loved bowling and played on a woman’s provincial bowling team for many years. She enjoyed volunteering her time singing in her church choirs in Saint John and Saint Louis.

Marie will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 53 years, Rheal Blanchard of Saint-Louis; one daughter, Denise Lord (Joe) of Saint John; two sons, Rheal E. Blanchard (Robin) of Saint John, Danny E. Blanchard (Shannon) of Quispamsis; three grandchildren, Shaun (Sarah), Kristen (Scott), Hannah (Anders); two great-grandchildren, Owen, Olivia; seven chosen grandchildren, Ewan, Katelyn, Tyler, Julie, Tyler, Matthew, Allyson and three chosen great-grandchildren, Marshall, Dustin and Madison. She is also survived by three sisters, Alphonsine Kelly (Walter) of Rexton, Angela Gray (Ernest) of Saint-Louis, Lise Vautour (Roy) of Cap St-Louis; four brothers, Roger Vautour (Lucille) of Gardner, MASS, Ovila Vautour (Clairette) of Gardner, MASS, Edmond Vautour (Maria) of Quispamsis, Maxime Vautour (Michelle) of Quispamsis; sister-in-law, Bernice Vautour of Cap St-Louis; Godsons, Edmond and Stephane; God daughter, Donna and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Hubert.

Visitation will be held at Thompson Memorial Home in Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, Friday at noon until time of the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 2:00 pm, St. Louis des Français Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Louis-de-Kent.

Donations in Marie’s memory may be made to Osteoporosis Canada or NB Parkinson Society and would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements are in the professional care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).

Elle aimait aussi offrir son temps bénévolement à chanter dans les chorales de ses églises à Saint-Jean et à Saint-Louis.

Blanchard (Shannon) de Quispamsis; trois petits-enfants, Shaun (Sarah), Kristen (Scott) et Hannah (Anders); deux arrière-petits-enfants, Owen et Olivia; sept petits-enfants choisi, Ewan, Katelyn, Tyler, Julie, Tyler, Matthew et Allyson ainsi que trois arrière-petits-enfants choisi, Marshall, Dustin et Madison. Marie sera aussi manquée par ses trois sœurs, Alphonsine Kelly (Walter) de Rexton, Angela Gray (Ernest) de Saint-Louis et Lise Vautour (Roy) de Cap St-Louis; quatre frères, Roger Vautour (Lucille) de Gardner, MASS, Ovila Vautour (Clairette) de Gardner, MASS, Edmond Vautour (Maria) de Quispamsis et Maxime Vautour (Michelle) de Quispamsis; sa belle-sœur, Bernice Vautour de Cap St-Louis; ses filleuls, Edmond et Stephane; sa filleule, Donna ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.

Outre ses parents, Marie est précédée dans la tombe par un frère, Hubert.

Les visites auront lieu à la Maison Mémoriale Thompson, Saint-Louis-de-Kent jeudi de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et vendredi de midi jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles. Les funérailles seront célébrées le vendredi 11 janvier 201 à 14h en l’Église Catholique Saint-Louis-des-Français, Saint-Louis-de-Kent.

Les dons en mémoire de Marie faits à la Société Ostéoporose Canada ou à la Société Parkinson du Nouveau-Brunswick seraient appréciés par la famille.

Les arrangements ont été confiés aux soins professionnels de la Maison Funéraire Thompson, Richibucto. (523-4252)
