Obituary for Evelyn O'Brien

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Evelyn O'Brien in her sleep the early morning of December 22nd, 2018 in her 96th year.

Evelyn was born in Chatham Head, New Brunswick to Lulu and Edward Francis O'Neill in 1923. After graduating from high school, Evelyn moved to Moncton, New Brunswick where she renewed her acquaintance with Russell O'Brien and soon became his wife. Evelyn and Russell had two sons (Glyn and Darrell) and Evelyn continued to live in Moncton until 2005 when she moved to Alberta to be closer to family.

Evelyn will be missed by her family, sons: Glyn (Marilyn), grandson Doug, great-grandchildren Alana, Drayden, Halle and Kale; granddaughter Christy (Dave) Allemekinders, great grandchildren Kayley, Brett and Leah. Darrell (Sheryl), grandson Patrick (Marie), great-granddaughter Florence. She will also be missed by her sister–in–law Joan O'Neill, brother–in–law Lloyd O'Brien, several nieces and nephews and some dear friends both in Alberta and New Brunswick including special friend Ron (Maureen) Christie often referred to as her third son.

Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Russell in 1984, her brother Ed O'Neill in 1990, and her sister Jean Dupre in 2007.

We would like to thank the staff at Salem Manor Nursing Home and Dr. Holden for their tender care of our mother.

As per her request, there will be no funeral.
