Obituary for Jennifer Huttges

It is with profound sadness that the Huttges family announces the unexpected passing of Jennifer Rae Huttges. She was born in Sussex, NB on February 28, 1985 to her loving parents, Bruce and Nancy (Armstrong) Huttges.

Jennifer was a unique and spirited soul who made friends wherever she went. She graduated from UNBSJ with Bachelors of both Science and Education, and was a well–known athlete on the UNBSJ Seawolves Volleyball team. Jen was an avid swimmer, a brilliant photographer and a talented musician and singer. She was happiest in the kitchen and those closest to her knew to NEVER touch her knife set. Jen’s quirky and witty sense of humor was infectious and every encounter with her was sure to leave you with a smile on your face. She was a compassionate and caring individual devoted to helping people and animals. Jennifer faced the challenges life dealt her courageously, never losing her positive outlook. Stubborn and determined by nature, Jen persevered and lived every day of her life to the fullest. Our beautiful girl will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her.

In addition to her parents Bruce and Nancy, Jennifer is survived by her grandmothers Verna (Langille) Huttges and Lesley (Fraser) Armstrong, sister Natasha (Kevin) Parsons, aunts; Linda, Debbie and Brenda, uncles; Kevin (Sylvia), Tyson and Wayne, numerous cousins, dear friends; Rachel Van Beelen and Kevin Smith as well as her beloved cat, Cheddar.

She was predeceased by her grandfathers; Henry Huttges and Nigel Armstrong, and her uncles Philip Huttges, Mickey Huttges and James Huttges.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road(646–2424). Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 2–4pm and from 6–8pm at the St. Martins Baptist Church (211 Main Street, St. Martins). A funeral service will be held at the church on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 2pm. Geoff deJong will be officiating the service.

For those who wish, donations can be made in Jennifer’s memory to the SPCA in Saint John or the St. Martins Baptist Church to support their community programs. To sign the guestbook or place an online condolence message, please visit www.fundyfuneralhome.com
