Obituary for Henry Girouard

1929 - 2019
Henry Girouard, 89, of Auberge du Soleil, formerly of Champlain Street, Dieppe, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Philippe and Ida (Léger) Girouard.

Prior to his retirement, Henry was a mechanic at Taylor Ford and Hollis Lincoln Mercury.

He is survived by 10 children: Norma Hiltz (Glenn), Donald "Donny" (Aliesha), Pauline Kerr (Dave McNeill), Henri Jr. "Nooner" (Diane), Léo (Gisele), Dorine Saulnier (Bernie), Louise Vautour (Jean-Marie), Diane Bourgeois, Anna Anderson (Kerry), and Yvon; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his wife, Émilie née Babineau; one daughter, Linda Lutes; one grandson, Andrew; two sisters: Virginie and Sara; and five brothers: Zéphyr, Léandre, Félix, Edmond, and Michel.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 22 at 3 pm followed by a reception at the centre. Visiting hours are Monday from 7 to 9 pm only. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.
