Obituary for Suzanne Barker

It is with extreme sadness that the family announce the passing of Suzanne Evelyn Barker of New Maryland, NB at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital surrounded by her immediate family on January 16, 2019. She was born on July 10, 1947 in Fredericton. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Hazel Hayward (Green).

Suzanne is survived by her husband; Robert (Bob) Barker, her daughter; Joanne (Richard) Storey, her son; Darren (Megan) Barker, step-daughter; Anne (Cleave) Devitt, step-son; Terry Barker, seven grandchildren; Randy and Kayla Storey, Katelyn and Joshua Barker, Jason (Brooke) and Bradley Akerley and Nazareth Barker, one great-grandson; Logan Barker, brother; Irvine (Casey) Hayward, sisters-in-law; Mildred (Ron) McGee and Margaret Bovay, aunt; Alma Bagley and several nieces and nephews.

Suzanne was employed for 18 years at Walmart and Woolco. Before that, she worked at Atmus Equipment. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church. In her previous years, she enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time at her camp at Wuhr’s Beach. Suzanne highly valued her time with her family and friends.

Along with her parents, Ralph and Hazel Hayward, she is also predeceased by her brothers, Brian and Fredrick (Freddie) Hayward.

Visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 6pm to 9pm. The funeral will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11am with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. The pallbearers will be Fred Elliott, Terry Nolais, Brandon McCrea, Tyler Downing, Mike Dionne and Mark Holland. Interment will be held at Saint Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in New Maryland, NB at a later date.

The family extends our deepest thanks to nurses Kim, Tina and Jessica of the Palliative Care Unit at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital.
