Obituary for Monique Gionet

1960 – 2019
Caraquet – Monique Gionet (née Morin), 58 years, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre. She was the wife of Robert Gionet. She is predeceased by her parents, Edouard Morin and Denise Grandmaître.

She is survived by her two children: Sara (Zach Piers) from Estevan, Sask. and Ian Jr. from Bathurst; one grandson: Noah Piers; her brothers and her sister : Michel (Wanda), France (Lloyd) and Jean-François (France ‘Frisette’); her uncle, Henriot Morin (Solange) de Lac-aux-Sables, Qc.; her sisters-in-law: Gabi Guérin (Raymond), Marielle Noël (Fernand) and Ghislaine Landry; her brothers-in-law: Yvon Gionet (Ginette), Roger Gionet (Gilberte); the father of her children: Ian MacLean from Bathurst, along with many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Monique started her career as a Military Police with the Canadian Armed Forces, later becoming a member of the B.N.P.P. and the Bathurst Police Force, where she worked until her retirement. After retiring, Monique became a Coroner in Gloucester County, NB.

Family will be receiving relatives and friends at Racicot Funeral Home, 49 rue du Portage, Caraquet from 11am to 1:30PM on Friday, February 15th, 2019. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St-Pierre-aux-Liens Roman Catholic Church, Caraquet, on Friday, February 15th, 2019, at 2pm.

In memory of Monique, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
