Obituary for Zella O'Dell

1926 – 2019
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Zella. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at The Grass Nursing Home on Friday, March 22, 2019, in her 93rd year. Born in Cocagne she was the daughter of the late Alban and Adele Cormier (Breau).

Zella was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and her family was her priority. Prior to her marriage of 57 years to George, Zella was employed at Marven's Biscuits. She was long–time member of St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Moncton Legion, and was involved in fundraising efforts by the CNR War Veterans Club.

All that knew Zella will remember her great sense of humor and quick wit. Her kindness to others will never be forgotten and she will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Shaw (Richard) of Moncton; Janna LaBerge of Calgary; son, Rodney O'Dell of Moncton; sisters, Yollanda LeClair (late Frank), Dina Arsenault (late Alphee); sister–in–law Arline (late Tim); brother Henry "Hank" (late Joan); grandchildren, Erin (Mark), Meagan, Jaclyn, Daniel, Kayla, and Rodney Jr. (Jessica); great grandchildren, Addison and Connor McKerracher, and Keira O'Dell. Zella was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Yvon, Tim, Tony; and sister Dorilla Black.

Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Road, Riverview on Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, 43 Botsford St., Moncton, on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. with Father Charles Broderick officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Zella's memory may be made to St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church Building Fund or to a memorial of the donor's choice.

The family would like to thank the management and caregivers at the Grass Nursing Home for the excellent care given our mother during the past 2 years.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Funeral Home (506–857–9544). Online condolences can be made at www.tuttlefuneralhome.ca
