Obituary for Emilie Richard

(1933-2019)
ST. IGNACE, NB – Emilie Richard, 85, of Moncton, NB passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Center in Moncton on Monday, March 25, 2019. Born in St. Ignace, she was the daughter of the late Luc Richard and late Emilienne (Blanchard) Richard.

Emilie worked in many restaurants and cafeterias during her early working career then became a teacher’s assistant for special needs children employed at Ecole Ste-Anne in Fredericton for 10 years and also in Saint-John. She enjoyed continuing her education, reading and traveling. She was also a member of the St. Ignace Golden Age Club.

Emilie will be sadly missed by her two sons, Jean-Paul Leblanc of Val d’Or, Quebec, Roger LeBlanc of Moncton; one grandson, Andrew and two great grandchildren Lucy and Oliver; three sisters, Viola Richard of St. Louis, Dina Vallee (Albert) of Leominster, MASS, Noëlla Doucette (late Abel) of Dieppe; two brothers, Wilfrid Richard (Christina) of Hawkesbury, ON, Dolphe Richard (Paula) of Leominster, MASS; sister-in-law, Marie Germaine Richard of Leominster, MASS and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three step-daughters, Lisa, Nancy, Elaine and four step-sons, Leon, Donald Richard, Eloid and Norman.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Emerie LeBlanc, second husband, Dolar Richard and two brothers, Fidele and Ernest.

Visitation will be held at Thompson Memorial Home in Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Monday from 9:30 am until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 11:00 am, St. Ignace de Loyola Roman Catholic Church, St. Ignace.

Donations in Emilie’s memory may be made to the St. Ignace de Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
