Obituary for Leonard Leger

Leonard S. Leger of Residence Notre-Dame-du Sacré-Coeur Dieppe (formerly of McGinley) passed away on March 29, 2019 at the CHU Dr. Georges L. Dumont at the age of 95. Born on November 2, 1923 in McGinley Corner, he was the son of the late Sifroid Leger and Ida (Cormier) Leger.

He was well known for his beautiful vegetable garden and for being an avid Montreal Canadian fan. He worked for CN Express and loved to travel. He was a member of the Knight of Columbus 4th degree, Historical Society of Memramcook and the Association of the CN Pensioners.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Rita (Auffrey) Leger with who he was married for over 73 years, two daughters, Louise L. Leger of Ottawa and Cecile (Guy) LeBlanc of Memramcook Est, two sons, Maurice (Paulette) Leger of Dieppe and Jean-Marc (late Claudette) Leger of Memramcook, one sister, Soeur Angeline Leger of Dieppe, five grandchildren Mario (Sonia), André, Stephanie (Eric), Margot, Melanie (Louizandre) and four great-grandchildren, Fédréric, Gabriel, Marika, Noémie and by several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one infant Annette, two sisters Dorilla and Soeur Rita, four brothers, Leandre, Gerard, Ulysse and Romeo.

Visitation will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook on Monday, April 1 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm only. Funeral mass will be held at Saint Thomas de Memramcook Roman Catholic Church, St-Joseph on Tuesday, April 2 at 11:00 am. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook. www.dupuisfuneralhome.ca
