Obituary for Gerald Cameron

1946 - 2019
Gerald "Gerry" Daniel Cameron of Riverview passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Friday, April 12, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 72. Born in Summerside, PE he was a son of the late William Alexander and Mary Anne "Molly" (Kelly) Cameron.

Gerry was employed with the Moncton Hospital in the Health Records department until the time of his death. He was a member of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Moncton NB.

He was a loving husband and father as well as a great co-worker, mentor, surrogate father, counsellor and friend. He touched many lives in numerous ways in his daily life as well as through his work in Health Records, Addiction Services and driving cab (Whitey). He always went over & above what was expected to help people. He truly loved every job he did. As Gerry always said, “I’ve made a living by loving what I do”. It kept him going.

Aside from his family, the other great loves in his life were fishing, lobster dinners, watching baseball (Blue Jays), Pepsi, mint mentos and - last but not least, his furbabies Bosley and Flash.

Survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Elizabeth (Costello) Cameron; daughters, Shelley (Todd) McLean and Lisa Cameron both of Riverview; sons, Frank and Terry (Donna) Cameron of Riverview; sister, Noreen (Rosaire) Levesque of Montréal PQ; grandchildren: Alysha, Jake, Keagan and Braeden; great- grandchildren: Jade, Brooklyn, Maxen, Adelynn and Liam, also by brother-in-law George Thomarat and a son-in-law, Noel Melanson.

In addition to his parents Gerry was predeceased by sisters: Lois (late Milton) Anderson, Mary (late Donat) Landry, Miriam "Midge" (late Robert) Colville, Teresa (late George) Rafferty and Mildred Thomaret; brothers: Donald (late Carole), Urban "Sparky", Reverend Francis and John “Jack” Cameron.

A very special thanks to Dr. Julie Arsenault for the excellent care and attention she gave Gerry. A truly dedicated doctor who went above & beyond to ensure he had the best care possible – as well as supporting his family during this very difficult time.

Also, special thanks to the team of doctors (from many different specialties) and nurses involved in his care (there were MANY) – especially those on 4200, 6600, 3400, MSICU and all of 3600. In his final hours, both Dr. Lisa Searle and RN Anne Marie were a great support team to the family. THANK YOU!

Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, NB on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 4pm until 8pm. The Funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 5 Fatima Dr. Riverview, NB on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 11:00 am with Fr. J.B. Mallais officiating. Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery at a later date.

At Gerry’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the National Catholic Broadcasting Council in Markham ON.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, NB (506) 857-9544. Online condolences may be made at www.tuttlefuneralhome.ca
